Lakefront

There pictures are from a few Summers ago, at Seneca Lake State Park in my hometown of Geneva, NY.

Your Place will require some lakefront scenes for pivotal dialogue scenes. I am beginning to scout, despite all of this snow!

Music: For The Soul

Your Place will have its downs, and it will have its ups. Therefore, music styles will vary. I will be sending some sample songs as stylistic examples to the few friends I've lined up to help score the film...

Inspiration for Style

"Little Banana" Scene from Wes Anderson's 1996 film Bottle Rocket

On a slightly unrelated note, hung up about a dozen posters and casting flyers for the Your Place casting call (Sunday, February 27 in Park 285 from 2:00-6:00PM) around Dillingham and Park today. Saturating the market further with an impending Intercom Call and Craigslist posting...wish me luck!

I Wanna Shoot Here!

Good ol' Hal's Deli. Thankfully, it's only a couple blocks away from my apartment and after looking through some location reports that my peers did for a Special Topics class, Hal's Deli looks like the perfect place to film a pivotal scene in my film. The three main characters unite after attending a friend's funeral over breakfast and this looks like a great place to shoot. Thanks to Matt Rigby for the detailed scouting report!

I will be contacting them soon...

Sweet, Sweet Progress!

Today, Hump Day, is a good day.

My friend Maggie Prendergast has agreed to help design some posters/promotional materials for Your Place! She is super talented--check out her artwork here: http://deskdrawer.tumblr.com/

In other news, my other good friend, Scott Kellerhouse (music student extraordinaire here at Ithaca College), has informed me that he would like to help with scoring the film! He slaps the bass guitar very well and performs in numerous bands around the area, check them out: http://www.redlionsmusic.com and ZGress.

Sources of Inspiration/Location Scouting/Emotional Gauges

I have taken these pictures over the past two years in order to preserve memory but also to help my train of thought while writing the script for Your Place. I have been looking back at my own pictures and pictures all over the Internet as I search for visual manifestations that are similar to how I hope my thesis film will look like.
Friends.

Blossoming relationships.

I like leading lines and carefully composed images, which will be important when attempting to hone in on Cullen's psyche.

The joy of bicycle riding in Barcelona.

Loneliness.

I'd like to use images like this (no beach) for cutaway shots.

The joy of bicycle/tricycle riding!

Dusk. The story calls for shooting during the morning hours, daytime hours and night time hours. Light changes throughout the day and I want to explore these changes in order to help make the film more visually dynamic.

Akin to possible shooting location. Lake Front along Cayuga Lake
